Taskly Board ("we", "our", or "the app") is an iPad application for task management. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1 Data We Collect

Stored locally on your device

  • • Tasks, projects, sprints, and notes you create
  • • Handwriting data (Apple PencilKit drawings)
  • • App preferences and settings

This data is stored on your iPad and is not transmitted to any server unless you enable backend sync (a Pro feature).

Synced to our backend (optional, Pro only)

  • • Email address and hashed password (for authentication)
  • • Tasks, projects, sprints, and notes (for cross-device sync)
  • • Handwriting drawing data and recognized text (for note sync)

Data we do NOT collect

  • ✕ Location data
  • ✕ Contacts, photos, or other personal files
  • ✕ Analytics or tracking data
  • ✕ Advertising identifiers

2 AI Features

AI features (task generation, chat assistant, project planning) use your connected AI provider (Anthropic Claude or OpenAI ChatGPT). When you use AI features:

  • • Task data is sent to your chosen AI provider to generate responses
  • • We do not store AI conversation data on our servers
  • • Your AI provider's privacy policy applies to data they process

3 Handwriting Recognition (OCR)

Handwriting-to-text conversion uses Apple's Vision framework and is processed entirely on your device. No handwriting data is sent to external servers for recognition.

4 Subscriptions

Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment information. Apple's privacy policy governs payment data.

5 Data Storage and Security

  • ● Local data is protected by iOS file protection (NSFileProtectionComplete)
  • ● Backend communication uses HTTPS encryption
  • ● Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text
  • ● Authentication uses token-based sessions (Laravel Sanctum)

6 Data Retention and Deletion

  • • Local data is deleted when you uninstall the app
  • • Backend data can be deleted by contacting us at the email below
  • • You can sign out at any time to stop syncing data to the backend

We do not use any advertising SDKs, analytics frameworks, or tracking services.

8 Children's Privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
